A stunning winter wedding with perfect winter weather

When we met Jack and Tanya at Browsholme Hall last November to discuss their photography we went through all the usual questions, including the one about the weather. Tanya had no doubts that she wanted a snow white wedding with enough snow to create a perfect backdrop but without so much that it caused havoc with logistics. Living down in London with half the wedding party and friends heading north for the weekend we fully understood their concerns.

So when the day finally came it has to be said that Tanya's wishes could not have been more precisely met. The previous two days' snowfall had left the hills and fields with a beautiful deep dusting of white and with clear blue skies we had the winter wedding backdrop to die for.

Tanya's wedding dress was breathtaking in its simplicity with hints of a Russian Anna Karenin look with its beautiful fur jacket and winter muff. The filigree lace detailing on the bodice and sleeves was reminiscent of Sarah Burton's design for the Duchess of Cambridge - elegant and traditional but with a nod towards the contemporary.

Her bridesmaids (all 5 of them) were the perfect counterfoil to her winter whiteness, with their purple silky dresses partnered with fur stoles. The complete ensemble of bride and bridesmaids created the perfect line up for a winter wedding in a country church (All Hallows at Mitton) followed by a breathtaking warm and glowing reception at Browsholme Hall.

Jack and his band of ushers sported grey morning dress to add to the winter palate set off by a striking midwinter mix of purples, reds and blues in their butonholes.

From the outside whites and greys, the day transformed majestically into a rich and warming red interior with a stunning sense of drama - deep red table settings, purple napkins, dramatic candelabra and warm textures of bare stone in the Tithe Barn.

So far, the coldest wedding in our retinue but a truly fantastic day and one that proved that a daring sense of style can really pay off.

OK - so this all very tantalising but where are the pictures. Jack and Tanya are just about to set eyes on them after a honeymoon in Colombia - so you'll have to wait a short while until they get to see them first.

Meanwhile here a few non people shots to whet your appetite.......
